Our group classes offer something for everyone. Our in-person classes are held at our award winning Training Facility. From Puppy Kindergarten and Beginner Training to Advanced Training; Tricks; K9 Nose Work; and Rally - Coventry has it all. See all of the class description below
If you prefer to learn individually or can’t make our classes, we’d be excited to work with you privately. Private training lessons can deal with basic training problems like jumping, pulling, puppy nipping, not coming when called, destruction, barking, housebreaking, counter-surfing, and many more.

GROUP CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Obedience Training
Even dogs need to work on their manners! Take one of our obedience classes so you and your dog can start working on these basics like sit, down, come, and everything in between.

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN 101
Tuition = $270
One hour class for 8 weeks
For puppies 8 weeks to 5 months old
No previous training needed
To ensure the health and safety of all, we must be provided proof of age-appropriate vaccinations: one-two rounds of their puppy shots (Distemper/Parvo) and Rabies (when given).
Start your puppy out on the right paw with a class designed specifically for his needs! This class is in-person at our award winning training facility. Please note, the first week is an orientation class presented on Zoom. Puppy Kindergarten, focuses on providing good socialization experiences with puppy play, teaching attention and focus, bite inhibition, walking on a leash, good manners, sit, down, control yourself and come.
PUPPY JUMPSTART 102
Tuition = $199
One hour class for 6 weeks
For dogs of all ages
Previous Training: Puppy Kindergarten or experience with a similar class
To ensure the health and safety of all, we must be provided proof of current vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo.
Are you ready to Jumpstart your dog's education? Whether your puppy needs to master the basics, or your older dog needs to polish up a few things before moving on with his education, this 6-week class is perfect! Build a solid foundation for essential behaviors like: stay, wait, come when called, leave-it, walk nicely on a leash and go-to-place. Pre-requisites are Puppy Kindergarten or some experience with a beginner class. Additionally, this class prepares handlers and dogs who have previously taken punishment=based training methods elsewhere to switch to positive reinforcement training. This class runs for 6-weeks - in-person at our award winning training facility.
BEGINNER 100
Tuition = $270
One hour class for 8 weeks
For dogs 5 months and older
No previous training needed

Our Beginner 100 class is the perfect start to your dog's formal education. This class will teach sit; down; stay; wait; come when called; walk nicely on a leash; leave-it; targeting and go-to-place. In addition, basic manners will be covered and you will be introduced to both hand signals and voice commands. As the class progresses, an introduction to distraction training will be added.
This class runs for 8-weeks. The first session will be an orientation class held on Zoom. The remaining seven weeks will be in-person at our award winning Training Facility. All classes are one hour. For dogs 5 months and older.
WONDER DOG!
Tuition = $199
One hour class for 6 weeks
Previous Training: Beginner or Jumpstart

Did you think your training was complete? Not yet! Take your dog to the next level! The next big step in your dog's education is making him a Wonder Dog! This in-person class at our award winning training facility focuses on adding distance and distractions, and increases your dog's abilities. Your dog will learn new concepts such as "heel" while focusing his attention on you instead of the environment as well as other tasks. We will introduce emergency cues so that your dog will respond quickly, even while in motion.
DOG UNLEASHED

One hour class for 6 weeks
Previous Training: Wonder Dog!
To ensure the health and safety of all, we must be provided proof of current vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo.
"We don't need no stinkin' leashes!!" Finally, the off-leash class that you’ve been waiting for! Your dog is going to earn his/her college degree. We will work to attain off-leash reliability through fun and fast-paced activities with difficulty increasing by changing distances and distractions. This in-person class at our award-winning training facility will help you attain on and off-leash reliability. Some activities will take place outside, weather permitting. Fun and fast paced exercises that increase difficulty by increasing distance and distractions will get you the "Super Dog" that you always dreamed of.
Canine Good Citizen
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN PREP CLASS

Here is a special clinic to prepare you and your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test. CGC Test usually available the week after class ends.

Tricks aren’t a silly pastime; they’re a fun and engaging way to mentally stimulate your dog and avoid boredom which could result in destructive behaviors. They’re also the basis of more advanced and complex behaviors! Whether you want to teach a few cute tricks, increase your dog’s mental stimulation, strengthen your working relationship or prepare your dog to learn more important tasks, this class is for you! KRANKY K9s

No Previous Training Needed

Is your dog KRANKY or frustrated with other dogs? Dog-to-dog aggression creates serious problems for owners. Owners of “kranky” dogs suffer embarrassment and sometimes even injury as they attempt to control their dog’s outbursts at the sight, sound, or even smell of another dog. Kranky K9s is a specialty class taught by multiple knowledgeable and patient instructors experienced in handling aggression in a classroom setting. We will focus on calming techniques, teaching alternative behaviors, and safe handling methods.
KRANKY K9s: OUT AND ABOUT

Previous Training: Kranky K9s

This outdoor class focuses on strengthening the skills learned in Kranky K9s and putting your dog into real-life scenarios. We’ll walk your dog through reproductions of common situations that you struggle with everyday and learn how to handle them successfully!
KRANKY K9s: RALLY
Tuition = $250
1-hour class for 6 weeks

Rally is an interactive dog sport where the dog and handler move from station to station completing different obedience exercises. The Kranky K9s Rally class will teach the dog and handler the necessary skills needed to participate in the sport while keeping each dog below their reactivity threshold. This introductory level will incorporate skills learned in Level 1 and focus on heeling, attention, proper positioning, stay, wait, and added distractions. The goal of this class is to enhance the bond between dog and handler, while strengthening behaviors that will prevent reactivity in the dog.
Nose Work
K9 NOSE WORK: INTRO TO NOSE WORK

The ultimate mental exercise for your dog! Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt so this exciting sport is designed to develop your dog’s natural scenting abilities. It’s a great way for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy.
K9 NOSE WORK: INTRO TO ODOR
Tuition = $185
1-hour class for 6 weeks

Continue developing your dog’s nose work skills as we introduce the target odors used in this sport.
K9 NOSE WORK: ADVANCED

Continue developing your dog’s nose work skills in all of the search elements: Interior; Exterior; Vehicle and Containers. Advanced problem solving; odor obedience and Trial preparation are covered in these on-going classes.
Rally - (Currently Not Available)
RALLY FUN-DAMENTALS - LEVEL 1 & AKC RALLY

1-hour class for 6 weeks

RALLY FUN-DAMENTALS - LEVEL 2 & AKC RALLY Precision & Practice

Previous Training: Rally Fun-damentals - Level 1 or currently competing in Rally Level1/Novice or higher.

FITDOG STRENGTH & CONDITIONING - LEVEL 1
Tuition = $165
45 minute class for 4 weeks
Strength and conditioning training can keep your dog healthy and promote a longer, better life! Whether you want to set up your young puppy right or help your older dog maintain strength and mobility, we’ll focus on skills we use in our A.C.E. (Academy of Canine Enrichment) program: building muscle strength, conditioning their bodies, stimulating their minds, and enhancing focus.
FITDOG STRENGTH & CONDITIONING - LEVEL 2
Tuition = $165
45 minute class for 4 weeks
Previous Training: FitDog Strength & Conditioning - Level 1
Build on the skills that you learned in FitDog - Level 1 to continue increasing your dog’s muscle mass and conditioning. Bond with your dog through more advanced challenges and movements!
Treibball (Coming Back Spring '24)
Treibball (pronounced tribe-ball) originated in Germany more than 10 years ago and means "push ball". It is a low-impact, herding-type sport that any dog and handler can play. If your dog has a nose or a shoulder, they can play treibball! The game is simple and only requires a few fitness balls, some treats, and a love of working with your dog. At their handler’s cue, a dog goes out into a playing field and pushes a selected ball to you, with direction and control. The game is timed, with only one dog and handler team on the field at one time, so mildly reactive dogs can participate too.
INTRO TO TREIBBALL

Is your dog's training ready for the challenge of real-life distractions? In this class, you and your dog will walk in several outdoor locations, along with a small group of other owners, dogs and a trainer. While you walk, you will practice the things your dog needs to learn, like loose-leash walking, stay, wait, come, pay attention and more!

HELLO LITTLE DOGGIE

This class is designed especially for young children! Parents, take a backseat as we talk through dog behavior, body language, and ways your child can safely interact with the dogs in their life. Families will be asked NOT to bring their dogs to this class and instead, focus on how to set your dogs and children up for a successful and happy life together through stories, activities, and songs. This is information relevant to any dog in your life so it's great for children with dogs in their homes, their extended families, and their neighborhoods. In addition to in-class materials, you’ll receive access to The Family Dog Online Training Portal which includes: the parents program (this covers all the most important skills you will need for raising children and a dog together) and the kids program (a “Special Agent Center” where they’ll have so much fun they won’t even know they’re learning!).

The skills are presented in an easy-to-learn format and are fun for dogs and kids alike. Parents can stand back, hold the leash, and watch their children bond with their dogs. In addition to in-class materials, you’ll receive access to The Family Dog Online Training Portal which includes: the parents program (this covers all the most important skills you will need for raising children and a dog together) and the kids program (a “Special Agent Center” where they’ll have so much fun they won’t even know they’re learning!).

Babies come with a variety of new sounds, smells, and movements and dogs don't automatically know what to make of them. Remove this added stress by preparing your dog on what to expect and how to behave so the experience is happy and safe. This 4-week class for you and your dog will help you prepare for the initial introduction and settling-in period. The first class is an orientation (humans only) to help you understand what will be required and how to plan. The remaining 3-weeks will include your dog and we will work on necessary life skills like stay, go-to-place, leave it, drop it, polite greetings and crating well.
Sports Foundations (Agility/Rally)

Sports Foundations - Agility
Tuition = $185
1 Hour class for 6 weeks

Train the skills you and your dog need for agility without any huffing and puffing for the human half of the team! Mask up and come to a non-cardio agility class. We will be training behaviors your dog needs to know to be fast and accurate on the agility course, including: Come to Hand; 2 on, 2 off Contact; Rear End Awareness; Forward Send; Wrap Around a Cone; Front/Rear/Blind Cross; Weave Pole Entries.
If your dog already knows these skills, great! You will be challenged with added distance, duration and distractions to strengthen your dog's understanding of their job.

Sports Foundations - Rally
Tuition = $185
1 Hour class for 6 weeks
To ensure the health and safety of all, we must be provided proof of current vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo.

Train the skills you and your dog will use for a variety of dog sports including: rally, treibball and more! Some of the skills we will be working on include:
Attention & Focus; Speedy Recalls; Body Awareness; Sent to a Target; Push an Exercise Ball; 2 Paws Up on an Object; Stand on an Unstable Surface; Off-Leash Heeling.
If your dog already knows these skills, great! You will be challenged with added distance, duration and distractions to strengthen your dog's understanding of their job.

PRIVATE LESSONS
If you prefer to learn individually or can’t make our classes, we’d be excited to work with you privately. Private training lessons can deal with basic training problems like jumping, pulling, puppy nipping, not coming when called, destruction, barking, housebreaking, counter-surfing, and many more. To ensure the health and safety of all, we must be provided proof of current vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella.

Schedule as many or as few lessons as you and your dog need. 1-hour in-person lesson for $150/hr; In-home $175/hr.
We now offer half-hour VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON private training lessons!
We offer 30-minute virtual OR in-person training sessions to help you address your specific training needs. Is there a particular training task that you need help with? Do you have questions or problems with an adolescent, like counter surfing, jumping on people, or walking nicely? Do you need guidance with your new puppy on housebreaking, nipping, or crate training? Maybe you just need a followup to your training class? Want to get an idea what virtual training is all about? We can help you in a quick, 30-minute session ($50 -Virtual) ($75 In-Person), that will address your needs and your tight schedule!
(Note: Aggression, fear, and reactive behaviors will require a full behavioral consultation.)
